Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of SideSpace pickup, storage, return, account and related services. Effective September 9, 2026.
1. SideSpace service
SideSpace provides pickup, off-site storage, inventory tracking and return of approved household belongings within supported service areas. SideSpace is not a moving company, self-storage facility rental, or packing service.
2. Pricing and billing
Current standard pricing is $15 per standard item per month and $25 per oversized item per month, unless a different price is shown and accepted at checkout. Scheduled service is included when available for your address. Off-schedule or special-trip service may carry a $59 fee. Applicable taxes or other disclosed charges may also apply.
3. SideSpace bins and customer property
SideSpace bins remain SideSpace property unless expressly stated otherwise. Customers are responsible for packing bins securely, closing lids completely, and staging approved items for pickup. SideSpace may decline items that are unsafe, prohibited, improperly packed, or outside stated size or weight limits.
4. Prohibited items
Do not store cash, negotiable instruments, jewelry, irreplaceable valuables, hazardous materials, illegal items, weapons, perishables, live plants or animals, controlled substances, flammables, explosives, or anything requiring special environmental controls. SideSpace may publish additional restrictions in its FAQ or account experience.
5. Oversized items
Oversized items must satisfy SideSpace's current handling limits. Unless otherwise approved, an oversized item must be something one person can reasonably carry, must weigh no more than 45 lb, and must not exceed 6 ft in its longest dimension.
6. Service windows and access
Regular pickup and return occur on available SideSpace service days. Customers are responsible for accurate addresses, access instructions, and making items reasonably accessible at the agreed location. Special or off-schedule trips are subject to availability.
7. Inventory and private contents information
SideSpace assigns physical inventory IDs to tracked bins and standalone items. Customers may add private descriptions and photos to help identify their own belongings. These private details are not used in the standard SideSpace operations workflow, which tracks the physical asset ID, status, customer assignment and warehouse location.
8. Customer responsibility
You represent that you own or are authorized to store all submitted property. You are responsible for accurate information, suitable packing, and complying with all published restrictions.
9. Cancellation
You may cancel your SideSpace service subject to arranging return of stored belongings and return of SideSpace-owned bins. Charges already earned for completed service or elapsed storage periods are not automatically refundable unless required by law or otherwise stated.
10. Loss, damage and service interruptions
SideSpace will use commercially reasonable care in handling and storing accepted property. Specific claim procedures, valuation limits, optional protection plans, insurance arrangements, or exclusions may be provided separately if applicable. SideSpace is not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside its reasonable control.
11. Account use
You are responsible for keeping your contact information current and for activity performed through your account or authenticated session. Notify SideSpace promptly if you believe your account has been misused.
12. Changes
SideSpace may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be posted here with a revised effective date.
13. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by applicable Michigan law, except where another law must apply. Questions may be sent to hello@getsidespace.com.
